The EU labels products from settlements

Products produced over the pre-1967 lines are not “made in Israel” and cannot be labeled that way, European Union Ambassador to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen said on Tuesday.

He spoke to The Jerusalem Post in defense of the pending publication of guidelines to enable member states to place consumer labels on exports from east Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

“The EU position is that we do not recognize Israeli authority beyond the Green Line. It is not part of Israel. It is not part of what we understand to be Israel’s international recognized borders,” said Faaborg-Andersen in a telephone interview.

“For that reason we cannot agree that products that come from settlements beyond the Green Line are labeled ‘made in Israel.’” Faaborg-Andersen will be one of the featured speakers at the fourth Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference in Jerusalem on November 18.

Cry me a river? You want to worry about labeling a can of fava beans, try living under military occupation where everyone is labeled NON-CITIZEN! I have been saying no one and I do mean no one recognizes Israel's land grab. Not even Israel's closest "friends", Harper of Canada did not change policy towards the occupied territories one iota. For the sake of sanity, right wingers need to stop living in biblical times, join the reality based world.

Try living in a nation where there are suicide Bombers and daily missile attacks. You call for the destruction of Israel and do not want peace then you get what you get in order to protect Israeli Citizens. Last I heard the Palestinians were free to do whatever they want. What gives anybody from another nation the right to move into it`s neighbors nation.
It is a giant desert and Israel can be flown over in five minutes. Go bloom somewhere else in the Desert. Maybe the moon god will prosper you.

Sane people know we are still in biblical times. Old and New testements agree.

Most of them carry Jordanian citizenship or Israeli citizenship. The only "stateless" ones are the ones living in with their co-religionists in ARAB countries like Lebanon and Syria. That is an internal Arab problem and nothing to do with Israel.

Not true. Many hold no citizenship outside of Palestinian - which of course Israel doesn't recognize. I'm talking about those living in West Bank. As for those living in other Arab countries, the vast majority are stateless with nothing. It is a crime and Arab countries are beyond pathetic in the way they mistreat them. In Jordan today, many Palestinians from the West Bank have citizenship but ZERO Palestinian refugees from Gaza have citizenship or any legal status beyond refugees. They are not allowed to work in government or work as doctors or lawyer or engineers. The same is true for Palestinians in Lebanon. And for those in Iraq and Syria, they endure a more hellish reality with war and being the "outsiders".

They are 100% Jordanian Citizens - so they are colonists on Israeli land

They can be citizens to Kenya, it's irrelevant. What determines ownership is a quaint instrument called a DEED. They teach that in real estate 101.

Ownership of a plot of land does not equal statehood. Plenty of Arabs own land in France, but France is not an Arab country (yet). Nothing to stop muslims owning land in Israel. However, your beloved Arabs in most Arab countries will actively prevent Jews from owning land there. Even Jordan has laws against Jews owning land. Your arguments supporting these animals are becoming increasingly hypocritical. They have not demonstrated themselves to be any "better" than Jews, so your support of them in mystifying.

You are the one that argued they have no claim because they were citizens of Jordan. Now you are going in circles, "ownership does not equal statehood". I never said it did, you raised citizenship as an issue. We are arguing over ownership and I think I proved my point that Arabs have deeds to prove ownership. Now let me agree with you, I don't in the slightest defend the archaic systems in any Arab country that deny Jews or anyone else ownership of land. It is wrong and unfortunately in a state of war you see the worst in people - and that is true of Israel. That is why we need peace and we need to stop the fighting over dirt.

And they don't have those either. You are a moron writing about things that you have no idea about
