Analysis: On Obama ignoring the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in his UN speech

For the first time since taking office in 2009,  US President Barack Obama failed to mention the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during his annual address to the UN General Assembly in New York.

Last year, as he stood at the same podium, Obama assured the international community that as “bleak as the landscape” appeared to be in the Middle East,  America would “never give up the pursuit of peace” between Israelis and Palestinians.

But on Monday, during his 43 minute speech to the UNGA, the president was suddenly silent on the matter, awakening Israeli fears that his attention will be elsewhere in the last year-and-a-half of his presidency
==================================

What is there to say? Netanyahu ran on "not allowing a Palestinian state on his watch" and the people spoke by reelecting him. Obama is not going to carry water for Israel once the scam was exposed. He would look stupid to no end to be talking about a "two state solution" now. The scam has run it's course. Netanyahu exposed it in living color for all to see - and for that we should all thank him. So now what? Just waiting for the other shoe to drop - as it always does in predictable fashion. It's not a question of if but when. The idea Israel can continue to oppress the natives for so long - refusing to give them rights or independence - is mind-boggling. A one state has existed since 1967. The only question then and now is what to do with the non-Jewish natives? To date, a military occupation, oppression and imprisonment has been the answer. The Palestinians foolishly believe that a independent state is even remotely possible. They are being mislead by their corrupt leaders to follow a dead end path that even if successful will result in another failed state. Hamas and Fatah have shown me they can't govern no matter who is in charge. Therefore, there is no hope for peace: None, zilch, cipher, cero, nohl! Israel closed the door and the Palestinians nailed it shut. A match made...you figure out the rest.

Corbyn claimed US and Britain made it look like bin Laden was responsible for the attacks in order to allow the West to go to war in Afghanistan.

      • Jeremy Corbyn, the newly elected leader of Britain’s Labor Party, claimed more than a decade ago that Osama bin Laden was framed for 9/11.

        Corbyn wrote in a 2003 article for the London-based Morning Starnewspaper that the United States and Britain made it look like bin Laden, the head of al-Qaida, was responsible for the attacks in order to allow the West to go to war in Afghanistan, the British daily newspaper The Telegraph reported over the weekend.

        “Historians will study with interest the news manipulation of the past 18 months,” Corbyn wrote in 2003 in the Morning Star, a Socialist publication. “After September 11, the claims that bin Laden and al-Qaida had committed the atrocity were quickly and loudly made. This was turned into an attack on the Taliban and then, subtly, into regime change in Afghanistan.”

        Corbyn, who has been accused of being anti-Israel, was criticized in the days before winning the Labor leadership on Sept. 12 after saying it was a “tragedy” that bin Laden was killed before he could be put on trial for the 9/11 attacks.

      Polls continue to show close to 46% doubt the official 9-11 version. Thousands of mechanical engineers and architects - many scientists - have signed a petition to force government to show their model on how buildings collapsed.The government refuses to provide model they used to come up with their conclusions. The petition is demanding a new investigation.They claim their models show buildings came down by a controlled demolition. Duhh....why wouldn't government provide the models they used?

          A fully loaded 737 crashing into a skyscraper at +300mph couldn't possibly cause the building to collapse, that's just crazy, those things are built to withstand... airplanes...
          LOL!

            Stop consipracy crafting, only fools think that Bin Laden did not commit 9/11, and it's even dumber to think the president would sacrifice so many people just to kick off another war.

                You should read more history. Most wars, if not all, were started under false pretense or false flag operations. Only fools believe the government version on anything much less on questions of war and peace. No shortage of historical examples to prove my statements.

                    Would you mind providing some examples from say the last 15 wars or so?
                    Because I'm thinking your statement is only true if you torture the meaning of the word "false pretense" to the point of breaking.

                        Really? Read up on ALL of Israel's wars for starters. The most recent ones, the invasion of Gaza and Lebanon. In the case of Lebanon, government new soldiers were already dead when they spread the lie mission was a rescue operation. They claimed they were inside Israel when attacked when the truth is it happened inside of Lebanon.The same thing regarding the invasion of Gaza. Israeli government lied about those teenagers claiming they were kidnapped knowing they were already dead and blamed it on Hamas when killers were not associated with the group. Both invasions were under false pretense. My guess is such truths are irrelevant to most, if not all Israeli's. There isn't a war Israel started that many here don't view as divine intervention. Let us not kid ourselves and get all indignant on the suggestion government start wars based on lies or false pretense. Really? This is controversial? This is true of all governments, not to single out Israel. In Israel's case, they are more proficient in the art of deception than most other governments.
